Build Project

Images of an Idea

This picture is a composite of two images I found while searching the web. Together they are the closest images of what I am about to build. The only difference will be that the trailer will have four wheels and there will be a cargo box on top of which the bed and cover will be mounted. The cover of the trailer will have thin film photovoltaic material applied which will provide me with 200 watts of power to charge the batteries and also drive the hub motor (not pictured)

Next is a paint program bit map image I made of my idea for the trailer. Note that the rear will open and a kitchen will roll out. Forward above the front wheels is a compartment for a battery bank. And, of course, a couple of storage compartments are accessed from the side. Note also that all four wheels utilize front wheels forks for mounting.

This next I found on the web and it looks to be the perfect setup for those who would trek by bicycle. It looks really simple to build. I imagine that the acolytes will use these.

After purchasing the hub motor kit (which will be for the Crystallite hub motor called the Brute.), the Schwinn Meridian Tricycle, and the batteries, I will buy a small MIG welder to convert the trike and construct the trailers for myself and Lady Jane, as well as the trailers for the acolytes.

This will take me about a year to accomplish and I plan on embarking on the trek about March of 2011, if the Lord is willing and I should live so long.

These are three images I found of one man's build and which he offered on the web for all to copy. And here is the set of pictures depicting the frame being built.

And here is the base I want to acquire for a trailer upon which I can build a little habitat.

In November I received my Hub Motor kit and I've mounted it on a test bike with a child tote  trailer for the three batteries. It works great! Next: gotta get a tricycle.

And now it is March 4th and yesterday I ordered my Schwinn Meridian Tricycle. It should arrive in the next few days. When it does, I'll assemble it and take a picture, which I'll post here.

March 15 and the trike is in Hermiston at the transfer station. It will be here in a couple of days.
